Gillian has been teaching dollmaking for 18 years , mostly in Bristol .
She began dollmaking in the USA where she lived for two and a half years . She had studied graphics at college and worked as a designer before moving to America with husband Bob . She has studied with several dollmakers in Washington State before returning to Bristol to launch her business .
She specializes in French dolls but covers all aspects of dollmaking from repro antique , modern to original sculpting and mould making . She also runs workshops for wigs , shoes , costuming etc
Weekly or weekend courses are available .
For the past 5 years Gillian has run her business from her large shop and studio where she sells dolls houses , miniatures , as well as collectors dolls and bears . She can also restore antique dolls . Gillian is chairperson of the GDS Great Western Chapter .
